Anonymous ASKED:
At this point its blatantly obvious that the events in Uncanny Avengers are going to be undone by time travel, since something tells me everyone on Earth dying isn't something that will stand. Why then did you pretend that Rogue, the Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man were dead for 2 months? I already had a hunch they weren't gonna stay dead (the movie, the UA annual, timeline issues), but you took Rogue off X-Men just to pretend she was dead for a short period.

So you’re asking me why I didn’t confirm your assumptions about something based on your assumptions about something else?

You’re building on sand, my friend. Wait and see!

It’s funny how the Anon phrases this thought. Like, Brevoort is “pretending” they’re all dead. They ARE dead in Uncanny Avengers, at least, and as clear as it might be that the events of Ragnarok Now will be reversed in some manner, we don’t know which of them are actually coming back to life at the end of this storyline (UA #22), and which are staying dead for a while longer to return in some other book or event.

Well, Rogue is showing in Av. A.I.; Wanda, WM and Jan showed in AvAs Infinity tie-in. They are alive post-UA, “regular” All-New Marvel timeline. The only thing I don’t understand is Rogue missing in X-Men, but Marvel should have some reason, I guess. Well, in fact, I can guess why: A.I. happens before UA, so it’s OK that she shows there. But don’t know about X-men, really. Unless that it is to give Monet some love, but I can’t see that being incompatible with Rogue being there.

Yeah, all those cameos (the two you mentioned + Cable and X-Force and X-Factor) seem to happen in an unclear timeline; I wouldn’t count on everyone showing up at least in one of those as guarantee that they all continue to live. One of the characters mentioned in the most recent issue of “X-Men” that she wished they could get Rogue back, which I see as confirmation that her job with the Uncanny Avengers doesn’t leave any time for being in another team rather than her being dead. I don’t know exactly why they chose to substitute Rogue for Monet; maybe they wanted to include some more diversity on the team, other than Storm and Jubes (for, of course, Psylocke doesn’t count). Or maybe the editor just came to his senses and realized that M. is more amazing than any other mutant lady (except for Storm). The thing is, technically, both Monet and Rogue serve the same purpose: they are both the sassy teammate who can fly and punch people real hard, and M brings the advantange of more diversity and more telepathy.
