I thought Avengers World was very enjoyable but I wonder if it wasn't what we needed to balance what we already had. Bigger, more plot-centric, stories with an even larger scope is just an expansion (taking it to 11) of Avengers so far. I really think what we needed instead was a book that was more character driven. If we could just merge Bendis' years of character-heavy, plot-light stories with what Hickman's giving us (basically the reverse), we'd have the perfect Avengers book.

The next four issues of AVENGERS WORLD will give you much more of that. This first one was needed to set all of the players into motion.
